Morris will miss at least two weeks after mishap

PHILADELPHIA -- Cardinals right-hander Matt Morris sprained his left ankle in a hotel fall early Friday and is expected to be out at least two more weeks.
Morris broke his right hand July 22. He had expected to come off the disabled list Sunday against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Cardinals head trainer Barry Weinberg estimated Morris will be out 10 to 14 days or more, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported on its Web site.
Morris thinks he might miss only Sunday's start, but the club did not share that view.
"It's going to be a while," manager Tony La Russa said.
Morris said the only good thing is that he hadn't reinjured his shoulder. He had shoulder stiffness and soreness earlier this season for more than a month.
"But that's not much consolation. I was starting to get excited about coming back to pitch and help us out. Then something like this has to happen."
The injury happened as the Cardinals entered Friday's game against the Phillies deadlocked in a three-way tie for the National League Central lead.
