Stolen camera holds many memories

To the editor:

I would like to express my appreciation to the individual who stole my digital camera while I was at Ponderosa Steak House Sept. 19. I grew up in what is now Scott City and went to school at what is now Notre Dame Regional High School. My family and I have lived in California the past 40 years.

Last week I attended a Lions International leadership forum in Columbus, Ohio. Returning home, I took the opportunity to visit my brother and sister in Scott City and to attend my high school 50th reunion. In the spirit of Lionism, I visited the Cape Girardeau Evening Lions Club for its meeting at Ponderosa. While in the restroom, my camera was liberated.

The new owner has a nearly new camera with a memory stick with pictures from our card club, a part at our California home, a visit to our home by our only granddaughter, pictures of the forum in Columbus and pictures taken while visiting my childhood area in Scott City.

Thank you, whoever you are, for making my visit to Southeast Missouri a memorable one. I hope you enjoyed making my life enjoyable.

By the way, I still have the camera battery charger. I will leave it with my brother when I return to California, and if you want to make arrangements, he can take it somewhere so you can steal it too.
