A 52-year-old man charged with fighting an officer while naked was taken into custody Thursday. Michael McLeary, of 606 S. Silver Springs Road, was accused of attempting to choke a police officer Sunday afternoon. He was charged with two counts of felony assault of a law enforcement officer, felony resisting arrest and misdemeanor property damage. Bond was set at $50,000 cash only. During the struggle, in which McLeary was nude, the defendant grabbed at the officer's neck and attempted to take his sidearm, according to a probable-cause statement. A second officer Tasered McLeary, who was hospitalized because officers believed him to be under the influence of drugs, police spokesman Jason Selzer said. McLeary was released from the hospital Thursday, and officers took him into custody without incident. "He was tame as a lamb," Sgt. Barry Hovis said.
