JONESBORO, Ill. -- Elizabeth Wheaton, 55, of Jonesboro died Tuesday, July 25, 2006, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born May 1, 1951, in Dearborn, Mich., daughter of Richard Larson and Dorothy Eileen O'Brien Seward. She and Larry Wheaton were married Nov. 24, 1980, at Wolf Lake, Ill. He died March 13, 2004.
Wheaton was a waitress at Southern Barbeque in Anna, Ill., and drove a school bus for Shawnee School District. She was a member of Anna Moose Lodge and Anna VFW Auxiliary.
Survivors include a son, Richard Seward, stationed at A.P. Hill in Bowling Green, Va.; two stepsons, Jeff Wheaton of Petersburg, Ill., Jerry Wheaton of Virden, Ill.; two stepdaughters, Teresa Smith of Virden, Tammy Nichols of Thayer, Ill.; three brothers, Charles Seward of San Clemente, Calif., Frank Seward of Springfield, Ill., John Seward of Carbondale, Ill.; three sisters, Margaret Lanham of Tucson, Ariz., Mary Smith of Otisville, Mich., Pat Seward of Anchorage, Alaska; and 10 stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers.
Friends may call at Hileman Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Greg Wheaton officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery.
