State candidate planning visit to Cape Girardeau

Wednesday, July 26, 2006

State Rep. Jack Jackson, R-Wildwood, who is running for state auditor will speak at 5:30 p.m. today at Cape County Park Pavilion 20.

The event will include a cookie and lemonade picnic.

The Republican primary for auditor will take place Aug. 8, and Jackson is expected to speak about his pledge to "embed" auditors into major taxpayer-funded programs from the time the programs get underway as an effort to curb wasteful spending and abuse.
