PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Leonard E. Lohmann, 71, of Perryville died Friday, June 9, 2006, at Perry County Nursing Home.
He was born Oct. 16, 1934, in Farrar, Mo., son of Edwin and Lydia Hadler Lohmann. He and Arlene Miesner were married Dec. 26, 1960.
Lohmann was a farmer.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Steven Lohmann, Scott Lohmann, both of Nashville, Ill.; a daughter, Cynthia Bridges of Marble Hill, Mo.; two brothers, Willis Lohmann of Perryville, Emil Lohmann of Altenburg, Mo; a sister, Olga Kuntze of Altenburg; two half sisters, Jane Hummert of Imperial, Mo., Becky Bohnert of Perryville; and five grandchildren.
Lohmann was a 1953 graduate of Perryville High School. He was an Army veteran who served from 1954 to 1956 in Japan. He completed the MFA manager training program and was assistant manager at the MFA in Perryville for a number of years. Lohmann owned and operated a farm since 1960 and had several additional jobs through the years. Lohmann held offices of president, vice president and treasurer of Salem Lutheran Church at Farrar. He was also a member of the Perry County Lutheran Historical Society and a volunteer at the Lutheran Braille Center. Lohmmann was past president of Perry County Pork Producers. He was past president of Perry County MFA advisory board and a district delegate to state. Lohmann served on the Perry County Farm Bureau Board. Lohmann was a member of American Legion Post 133.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters, two siblings in infancy and a half brother.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today at Young and Sons Chapel in Perryville. An American Legion wake will be at 7 p.m. today. Visitation will continue from 6:30 to 8 a.m. Monday.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Salem Lutheran Church in Farrar, with the Rev. Roger Abernathy officiating.
Burial will be Salem Lutheran Church in Farrar, with military graveside service provided by VFW Post 4282.
