Nominations for Hall due Thursday

The Missouri Department of Conservation is accepting nominations for the Missouri Conservation Hall of Fame. The deadline is Thursday.

The program honors deceased citizen conservationists and former employees of the Conservation Department and other conservation-related agencies who made substantial contributions to fisheries, forestry and wildlife conservation efforts in Missouri.

Conservation commissioners and directors are not eligible for the award. Anyone can submit nominations, which must include a statement of the nominees' accomplishments and a brief biography. Documentation of achievements is helpful.

A committee appointed by the Conservation Department director screens nominees. This committee consists of two current department employees, two retired department employees and the president of the Conservation Federation of Missouri. The committee meets twice a year and sends recommendations for Hall of Fame inductees to the Conservation Commission for approval.

For further information or to request nomination forms, write to Director, Missouri Department of Conservation, P.O. Box 180, Jefferson City, MO 65102-0180.
