SCOTT CITY -- Ervin Joseph Arnzen, Jr., 54, of Scott City died Saturday, April 29, 2006, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born Feb. 1, 1952, at Columbia, Mo., son of Ervin Joseph and Dorothy Holzum Arnzen. He and Lana Marie Glueck were married May 31, 1975, at Kelso.
Arnzen was a self-employed farmer. He was the current president of North Scott County Ambulance District Board and also served as president various times in his 20-year membership; a member of the Cape Girardeau Airport Advisory Board, River City Rodders Car Club, Jaycees Exhausted Rooster, Cape Girardeau Regional Air Show (military liason). He was active in the Republican Party. Ervin, dedicated to the Scott City Schools and community, was instrumental in developing the school sports complex behind the Scott City School. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Craig Arnzen of Scott City; a daughter, Lori Arnzen of Scott City; his mother of Leopold; three brothers, Doug Arnzen, Leo Arnzen, Albert Arnzen, all of Leopold; three sisters, Sharon Blanchard of Manchester, Mo.; Dorothy Green of Crump, Mo.; Helen Thomas of Coral Springs, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his father, a daughter, Jessica Arnzen and a brother, John Arthur Arnzen.
Friends may call at 4 p.m. Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel, Scott City. Parish prayers at 7 p.m.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Augustine Catholic Church, with the Rev. John Harth officiating.
Interment will be Tuesday at St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery in Kelso.
Pallbeareres are Johnathon Taylor, Drew Blanchard, Rick Green, Douglas Arnzen, Leo Arnzen, Albert Arnzen.
