Whitey raises funds for Jackson field

To the editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the news media for their coverage of Whitey Herzog's visit to Westfield Shopping Center on March 25. People from all over Southeast Missouri came to purchase Whitey's bobble heads. The people seem to enjoy meeting Whitey, and he certainly enjoyed meeting them.

If anyone would like a bobble head, they are available at Bent Creek Golf Course for $20 each, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the development of the new baseball field in Jackson.

Thanks again to all those who helped make this a successful fund raiser.
