The Southeast Missouri State softball team continued to roll Wednesday, as the Redhawks swept visiting Evansville in a nonconference doubleheader.

Southeast won the opener 4-2 and the nightcap 10-1 in a game stopped in the bottom of the fifth inning by the run rule.

The Redhawks improved to 17-9 with their fourth straight victory. They have won 13 of their last 15 games.

Elaine Fisher (7-6) pitched five innings of four-hit, shutout ball to win the opener. She struck out eight and walked none.

Southeast backed Fisher with nine hits, led by Megan McDonald and Lindsay Pickering with two apiece. Lyndsey Webb had two RBIs.

Stephanie Huffman (9-3) pitched all five innings of the nightcap, allowing three hits and an unearned run, with seven strikeouts and two walks.

The Redhawks had 12 hits, including home runs by Huffman and Michelle Summers. It was Summers' team-high eighth homer of the season. Huffman, Summers, Pickering, Charlene Ramirez, Lauren Bradley and Amber Peterson all had two hits. Huffman and Summers each had three RBIs.
