More exercise, less junk food

To the editor:

OK, I am quite confused now. First a couple of people complain about God being in schools, so he is taken out to please the few people, no matter what the majority of people think. We don't want to upset the few. Now there are reports that show the U.S. has a problem with child obesity, and I hear that our governor, Matt Blunt, is considering doing away with recess and physical education. Is it just me, or is there a common sense problem here? I think we should do more to get kids up and out to play more sports and be more active. Get rid of the candy and junk-food machines as well as the soda machines in school buildings. I know the soda companies pay the schools well to have them there, but bottom line is our kids are paying with their health. Is it really worth it?
