Tax dollars go to foreign governments

To the editor:

Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Southeast Missouri. You have been duped again. Your government has given $500,000 of your tax dollars to a foreign-owned ice cream maker in Sikeston, Mo., to increase its production line and double its mixing capacity.

Will the product be sold at a cheaper price? Will the company raise employees' wages? Is there a comparison between the ice cream plant and the United Arab Emirates running our ports? The UAE is not going to run the ports -- which we should be running for security reasons -- for nothing. The UAE will have to be paid -- with our tax dollars.

Some wise guy once said, "If we could take our government representatives back in time, we would have to strip them of their citizenship and hang them for high treason." Well, we can now name them.
