CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Duane Guy Eastman, 70, of Charleston died Monday, Feb. 27, 2006, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.

He was born Aug. 24, 1935, in Marion, Ill., son of Donald G. and Emma LaBotte Eastman. He and Betty LaVerne Allen were married June 26, 1954.

Eastman lived most of his life in Mississippi County. He owned Eastman's Decorating and Framing in Sikeston.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Charleston, Charleston Masonic Lodge, Shriners, and was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was a former mayor of Charleston, and the Charleston Lions Club of which he was a past president.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Cynthia Adams of Jackson; a grandson whom he reared, Carter Adams of Charleston; a brother, Horace Eastman of Jackson; three sisters, Donnetta McCabe of Yountville, Calif., Sue Kayler of China, Earlene Eastman of Marion, five other grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, Mo. Masonic service will be conducted at 7 by Charleston Masonic Lodge.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Michael Brewer officiating. Burial will be in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
