STILLWATER, Okla. -- Oklahoma State head basketball coach Eddie Sutton was hospitalized Friday after being injured in an automobile accident, OSU officials said.
Sutton was traveling to the Stillwater airport to fly with the team to College Station, Texas, where the Cowboys play Texas A&M on Saturday, said Gary Shutt, director of communications for OSU.
Sutton, 69, was taken to Stillwater Medical Center, where he was undergoing tests, said Shutt, who was headed to the hospital.
"We don't know the extent of his injuries, but it's not life-threatening," Shutt said.
Sutton suffered a head injury, according to police, who arrived at the accident scene about 5:45 p.m.
He was listed in good condition, said Shyla Eggers, a spokeswoman for the hospital.
According to a police report, Sutton was traveling in a sport utility vehicle when he veered left of the centerline, corrected and then struck another SUV from behind as he was traveling about 60 mph. Sutton's vehicle then left the roadway and struck a tree, Stillwater police reported.
