Nagako Naito

Nagako "Nickey" Naito, 81, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Jan. 27, 2006, at Fountainbleau Lodge.

She was born Feb. 5, 1924, in Tokyo, Japan, daughter of Saibe and Fummiko Minokawa Naito.

Miss Naito came to the United States after World War II. She had been head cook at Southeast Missouri State University. She was a member of Saint Francis Medical Center Auxiliary and a volunteer at the medical center. She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral and its Council of Catholic Women.

Survivors include two sisters, Akiko Naito and Maasako Naito; and a nephew, Kunihiko and wife Katsuyo Naito, all of Kawasaki, Japan.

A memorial Mass will be held at 5:15 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Cathedral, with the Rev. Thomas Kiefer officiating.

A funeral Mass and burial will be held at a later date at her home Catholic church in Tokyo.

Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary's School or Southeast Missouri State University Scholarship Fund.
