The cancer program at Saint Francis Medical Center has received a three-year reaccreditation with commendation from the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons. According to Nicole Thieret, account services coordinator at Saint Francis, receiving care through an accredited cancer program ensures patients will have access to comprehensive care; a multispecialty team approach to coordinate treatment; access to cancer-related information, education and support; a cancer registry that collects data on types and stages of cancers, treatment results and ongoing monitoring and improvement of care.
