'Bring 'em on' indicates poor judgment

To the editor:

George Bush really went over the edge last week. His taunting the Iraqi opposition to "bring 'em on" indicates very poor judgment. I remember my Navy days. If President Ford had done that, it would have made me feel really betrayed.

Bush doesn't seem to have any qualms about sending other people's children to fight and die in a completely unnecessary war. It's 120 degrees in Iraq, and those kids are tired and scared as the guerrilla war escalates. Many are already citing Gulf War syndrome and post-traumatic stress disorder. It's not at all what they expected. They want to come home. But Bush says "bring 'em on."

I was also thinking about the Bush handlers spending a million taxpayer dollars on that public relations stunt on the aircraft carrier in May. He said then, "The war's over" But now he's saying, "Bring 'em on." I'm not impressed.
