Lawsuit avoided in conflict over policy

In response to the letter "Is Jackson ready for turbans, saris?": Obviously it wasn't. If it had been my child denied entry, I would not have hesitated to file a lawsuit instead of working through the school board. In fact, the agreement that was reached ensures that the school district will accept the turbans, saris and other ethnic wear so that a lawsuit shouldn't be necessary. The world doesn't cease to exist at the Jackson city limits. Sooner or later the school policies were going to create a conflict. Be thankful it was settled without a lawsuit.
