Coleman may bow out of auditor's race

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Democratic Sen. Maida Coleman said Tuesday she is considering dropping out of the state auditor's race after a chilly response by some Democratic insiders and donors.
Instead, she said, she is considering running for St. Louis city license collector.
Coleman, a Sikeston native, reported raising less than any of the other auditor candidates and said she wasn't pleased with the lack of support from some fellow Democrats.
State Democratic Party spokesman Jack Cardetti said party officials have not worked against Coleman.
