Open your mind regarding Iraq

To the editor:

We live in dangerous times. When a political party would dare to subvert a sitting president and the men and women he commands, all to attempt to gain a few legislative seats in an off-year election, you know there's a serious problem. When the chair of the so-called loyal opposition would go on national television and say that the war in Iraq is a lost cause and cannot be won, you know there's a serious problem. When a former presidential candidate calls our men and women in uniform terrorists, you know you have a serious problem. When men like Joe Lieberman, a former vice presidential candidate, is ostracized and outcast from his party because he dares to believe that the war in Iraq is a noble and just cause, you know you have a big problem there.

Our loyal opposition encourages the public to open its mind. I do the same now. Open your mind to the possibility that Saddam Hussein was a tyrant and was a threat to America. Open your mind to the possibility that a free man in a war is more dangerous to terrorism than a slave in chains all in the name of peace. Open your mind to the fact that freedom and liberty must be fed by the blood of tyrants and heroes. Open your mind to the fact that we're doing the right thing.
