Where are the Democrat's solutions?

To the editor:

The president's approval rating jumped 6 percent, key economic indicators are at recent highs (some are the highest they've been in 12 years), consumer confidence reports rose above forecasted levels, gasoline prices are below $2 a gallon, and Iraq is about to hold another election. Even amidst skewed polls, a slanted media and a vocal minority, the Bush administration is accomplishing an agenda that is proactive and sensible.

While Bush administration critics use hindsight to undermine the president, their tactics are transparent. As the left calls for the head of Scooter Libby, they must have abandoned their memories of the Whitewater investigation, late-term presidential pardons and presidential impeachment. As they call for a timetable in Iraq, they must have forgotten about our troops still in Bosnia. As they question Bush's plan for Iraq, they must have forgotten about the pleas from our military leaders in Somalia. As they lash out at Republicans who denounced Congressman Murtha's cut-and-run plan, they must have forgotten about the slander campaign unleashed by their party on another war veteran, Bob Dole. And as they question pre-Iraq war intelligence data, the Democrats must have forgotten about the various embassy bombings and attacks on America and against America's interests that occurred during their party's watch that went unpunished and emboldened terrorists.

Once again, I ask the Democratic Party: Where is your plan for Iraq? For the economy? For public education? For Social Security? For tax reform? Give me solutions instead of ranting and rhetoric.
