Bridge money still going to Alaska

To the editor:

Your news article stated that Congress removed two Alaska bridge projects worth $452.5 million from its spending bill. Actually, Congress removed the earmarked designations. The money is still going to Alaska. Here in Ketchikan, the politicians are still pushing to have a useless bridge, one that the majority of us do not favor, built.

It is as Nikita Kruschev said, "Politicians are the same all over. They promise to build bridges even when there are no rivers."
