SIKESTON, Mo. -- Opal Louise White, 80, of Sikeston died Wednesday, June 18, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born May 5, 1923, at Parma, Mo., daughter of Clement Edward and Velva McCane Summerlott. She and Charles Floral White were married Aug. 8, 1942, in New Madrid, Mo. He died July 22, 1974.

White worked 20 years for Canvas Products Manufacturing Co., where she was an assistant foreman and supervisor on the sewing line. She had also worked at Faultless Cleaners and Missouri Delta Medical Center. She attended Fellowship Baptist Church.

Survivors include four sons, Don White of Springfield, Mo., Gary White of Shorewood, Ill., Charles White of Bertrand, Mo., George White of Perryville, Mo.; three brothers, A.J. Summerlott of East Prairie, Mo., Bill Summerlott of Rockford, Ill., Jack Summerlott of Sikeston; two sisters, Virginia Muellman of St. Louis, Elsie Walters of Portageville, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Joe McCullough officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
