CHICAGO -- Petr Cajanek deflected in a power-play goal midway through the third period to give the St. Louis Blues a 5-4 exhibition win over the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday night.
With the Blues on a 5-on-3 power play, Cajanek tipped Dennis Wideman's shot past Nikolai Khabibulin.
Jamal Mayers, Jeff Woywitka, Eric Weinrich and Peter Sejna also scored for the Blues, who improved to 1-1 in the preseason.
Tuomo Ruutu, Eric Daze, Tyler Arnason and Jason Morgan scored for the Blackhawks, now 3-2 in exhibition play.
Reinhard Divis started in goal for St. Louis and allowed two goals on 18 shots. Patrick Lalime replaced him at 10:30 of the second period and permitted two goals on 12 shots.
Khabibulin, the highest-profile goalie on last summer's free-agent market, played the entire game and stopped 29 shots in dropping to 0-2 in the preseason.
He signed a four-year, $27 million contract with Chicago on Aug. 5.
