Brickhaus on USS Kitty Hawk returns from mission

Navy Lt. Matthew J. Brickhaus, son of Lolamae Brickhaus of Sedgewickville, Mo., and his shipmates returned from a three-month summer underway period while assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk. Brickhaus is a 1989 graduate of Duschesne High School of St. Charles, Mo., and joined the Navy in December 1992. He is a graduate of University of Nebraska, Lincoln, Lincoln, Neb.

Area man serves aboard guided-missile destroyer

Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Douglas A. Edwards, son of Kaye and Douglas Edwards of Cape Girardeau, departed on a scheduled deployment while assigned to the guided-missile destroyer USS Donald Cook. Edwards is a 1999 graduate of Central High School and joined the Navy in August 2001.

Cape man enlists in National Guard 1140th

Adam L. Schafer, a heavy equipment operator, has enlisted in the Missouri Army National Guard and is assigned to the 1140th Bravo Company, Perryville, Mo. He is the son of William J. and Clara J. Schafer of State Highway 74. He is a 2005 graduate of Central High School.

Williamson completes Navy basic training

Navy Seaman Apprentice Clint E. Williamson, son of Brenda L. Penfield of Perryville, Mo., recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Williamson is a 2003 graduate of Summersville High School of Summersville, Mo.
