Explanation was condescending

To the editor:

Mayor Jay Knutson's explanation of proposed city charter changes for park fees was insulting to every citizen of Cape Girardeau and especially to women. I count myself as a member of the "little old lady" group that does not play golf and, therefore, would not be affected by an increase in golf fees.

The obvious question that begs asking is, "Would fat young men be affected?" The citizens of Cape Girardeau do not need the mayor to tell us that an increase in golf fees or other fees for park activities only affect those that partake of the activity. Mayor Knutson, shame on you.
