Crowell wins award from Missouri sheriffs group
Friday, September 2, 2005
State Sen. Jason Crowell, R-Cape Girardeau, was named Missouri Senator of the Year for 2005 last week by the Missouri Sheriff's Association. He was given the award for handling a bill in the Senate that allows money in county sheriffs' revolving funds to be used to cover costs associated with issuing conceal-carry permits. Handling the bill means that because the bill was introduced on the House side a senator had to take responsibility for the bill on the senate side and make sure it gets passed.
