Have Americans had enough yet?

To the editor:

David Limbaugh's lockstep position on so-called intelligent design mirrors that of the president. It is not surprising, since both have spent years pandering to the radical religious right. What is next? Faith healer Oral Roberts as surgeon general? What about minister, vitamin peddler and former presidential candidate Pat Robertson as America's roving ambassador?

How long must Americans endure these reactionary radicals who lie to us about the reasons for going to war, who favor corporate welfare over poor children, who believe the wealthiest among us are entitled to more riches while the poor and middle class get a smaller share of the economic pie and who seek to dismantle Social Security and other social programs that benefit the less fortunate among us?

With a presidential approval rating of 40 percent, more Americans are realizing these radical policies are taking us in the wrong direction. The question for former supporters: Had enough?
