The 11-year-old Ware, Ill., boy who was stabbed Tuesday by his 12-year-old neighbor is now in recovery at Saint Francis Medical Center, according to family friend Katy Ferguson.
She said Josh Harkins, is still in intensive care, but he is doing better and has been watching television. His mother has been staying with him overnight. Ferguson said the family does not know for sure yet when the boy could be released from the hospital.
Harkins was stabbed under his left arm Tuesday with a pocketknife while he was fishing near his home in Ware. The knife punctured a lung and barely missed his heart.
The unidentified suspect, also 12, was taken into custody and charged with attempted murder.
