CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Cornelia "Connie" Shuford, 95, of Chaffee died Tuesday, July 19, 2005, at Chaffee Nursing Center.
She was born Dec. 23, 1909, in Obion, Tenn., daughter of Matty T. and Bertha Lippard McCoy. She and William L. Shuford were married Aug. 10, 1943. He died June 12, 1982.
Shuford taught five years at Chaffee High School, and was a retired field representative with Missouri State Department of Revenue.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, president of the Democratic Party in Scott County, first president of Chaffee Business and Professional Club, was a committeewoman for Kelso Township, and was a national legislative representative in Washington, D.C., for UTU Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include a brother, Bob McCoy of Hayti, Mo., and a sister, Peggy Womack of Jonesboro, Ark.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee from 11:30 a.m. Friday until time of service.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Watis Harrell officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
