Police did right thing on Hanover

To the editor:

To the people who are upset with what happened on the Fourth of July on Hanover Street: That's a shame. I believe that the police officers did the right thing. It has nothing to do with race. That is what is wrong with the world today. Everyone is reaching for an excuse or justification for what they do wrong when they get caught.

I used to live in that neighborhood. When I came home to visit, I drove through just to see what had happened to my property, which I gave to Habitat for Humanity. It was scary driving up Hanover. I hope the police officers don't let up just because someone screams racial discrimination.
