Curtis Ray Dye, 39, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, June 30, 2005, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 14, 1965, in St. Louis, son of Owen and Valma Duffey Dye. He and Laura Norton were married April 6, 1996, in Jackson.
Mr. Dye was a 1994 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. He taught in Cape Girardeau and Perryville, Mo., schools three years, and was a line technician six years at Procter & Gamble. He was a member of La Croix United Methodist Church.
He served six years in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Hancock.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Norton Dye of Cape Girardeau; his father, Owen Dye of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Jeffrey Dye and wife Kristen of Jackson; a sister, Deborah Pickett and husband Tony of Cape Girardeau; his wife's parents, Dr. Jim and Betsy Dinkins of Cape Girardeau and Dr. Wayne and J.Z. Norton of Little Rock, Ark.
He was preceded in death by his mother Nov. 27, 1997.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Rob Mehner officiating. Entombment will be in Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum with full military rites by Missouri Honor Team and American Legion Post 63.
