Marvin Robert Koechig Sr., 76, of Cape Girardeau died at 1:46 a.m., on Friday, June 24, 2005, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girar-deau.
He was born on Thursday, Oct. 18, 1928, in Cape Girar-deau, the son of Henry F. and Minnie Peetz Koechig. He and Joyce Bradshaw were married on Oct. 22, 1949, in Piggott, Ark. She preceded him in death on Sept. 24, 1996.
Mr. Koechig was a graduate of College High. He was a member of the Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Church and a former member of the Elks Lodge No. 639. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserve.
Koechig was a manager of Missouri Propane Gas Co. of Cape Girardeau, purchasing agent for General Sign in Cape Girardeau and a self-employed carpenter.
He is survived by one son, Marvin Robert Koechig (Joan) of St. Charles, Mo.; one daughter, Dr. Donna Koechig of Eugene, Ore.; three sisters, Della Kramme of Arnold, Elsie Carrington of Fulton, Meta Siemers of Cape Girardeau and two grandchildren, Nicholas M. and Erica E. Koechig of St. Charles.
He was preceded in death by his wife and his parents.
Friends may call at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home on Sunday, June 26, 2005, from 4-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home chapel on Monday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Janet Hopkins officiating.
Burial will be at Hobbs Chapel Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
