June 13-17; June 20-24 Fitness Plus Summer Camps; Fitness Plus is offering four one-week day camp sessions for children ages 5 to 12. Kids can take part in many exciting activities including sports, games, crafts, swimming, fitness programs and field trips. June 18 13th Annual 4-person Scramble; The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department will host this golf tournament at the Cape Jaycee Municipal Golf Course at 8:00 a.m. The tournament is for men, women or mixed teams. The entry fee is $138.60 per team, rental carts are $9.45 per person and private carts are $8.00 per cart. The entry fee and carts must be prepaid by Wednesday, June 15 at 5:00 p.m. Registration will begin at 7:00 a.m. and breakfast and lunch will be served. June 18 Dad's Day 3K, Jackson, MO; Staff from Southeast Missouri Hospital's Main Street Family Fitness Center in Jackson have planned, in honor of fathers, a free non-competitive event. Bring your kids or grandkids and strollers but leave the lawn mower at home! At 8 a.m. meet at Jackson City Park to enjoy a summer outing and to celebrate being a dad. Illinois 146 east from the bridge, north on 146 to McClure, east on County 4 (Grape Vine Trail) to Tamms, 21 miles from the bridge. June 26 Juden Creek Hike; Hike the moderate terrain of Juden Creek Conservation Area trail from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and enjoy the wildlife diversity there. Adults ages 18 and above can participate. July 3 Velo Girardeau Time Trial; The course will be the old training loop north of Cape. The loop will be ridden three times. The start is at CR 635 and CR 638. Northwest on CR 638 to CR 634, north on CR 634 to CR 637, south on CR 637 to CR 635, south on CR 635 back to the start. Each loop is approximately six miles long and has approximately 350 feet of climbing.
