Good citizens accept results and move on

To the editor:

Jim Drury and his followers claim that the previous election to utilize hotel taxes to support the River Campus was problematic and should be brought to another vote. To that end Drury filed a lawsuit and, not pleased with the judges' decision on that one, filed another suit which was summarily dismissed. He has vowed to continue filing suits until he can kill the project through delaying tactics.

If the Democrats had used the same methods as Drury, the Gore-Bush election results would still be subjected to additional appeals in court. It is time for Drury and his followers to realize that they fought the good fight, lost, appealed, lost, appealed and lost again. Whether or not they agree with the judicial rulings, good citizens need to accept the results and allow the city to get on with it.
