COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Brandon Crook scored 20 points and David Reynolds added 19 points and 11 rebounds to lead East Carter County to a 77-51 win against West Platte in the Class 2 boys basketball state championship game Friday.
It was East Carter's second state title, the other coming in 1997. Tyler Stahl scored 17 points and Trevor Douglas added 14 for East Carter (23-7), which had a 43-30 rebounding advantage.
East Carter led 38-30 at halftime and outscored West Platte 20-9 in the third quarter.
Adam Barmann led West Platte (25-5) with 15 points.
Ash Grove 79, Charleston 67
Jeremy Nicholson scored 24 points and had 10 rebounds, and Jerod Floyd added 22 points and 14 rebounds to lead Ash Grove to a 79-67 win against Charleston in the Class 3 state semifinals on Friday.
Cory Adamson scored 17 points, and Shane Nicholson added 16 for Ash Grove (28-4), which shot 10-of-20 from 3-point range.
Ash Grove led 42-32 at halftime before Charleston (27-4) scored the first nine points of the second half. Ash Grove then outscored Charleston 26-17 in the fourth quarter. Charleston shot 51.7 percent but just 6.7 percent (1-of-15) from behind the line.
Marcus Biles led Charleston with 21 points and Kewain Gant added 18 points and 12 boards.
Charleston will play Lincoln Academy for third place today.
