Prison inmates need something to do in lockup

To the editor:

In regard to the Speak Out comments "Tough on crimes" and "They made a choice":

I held a job 20 years before going to prison, where I worked in the library and control center. Every inmate doesn't lie down in air conditioning all day watching TV. I had no TV.

I made a choice, and it was not a good one. I did my time. Some people can hire high-dollar lawyers or snitch on other inmates and get out of trouble. I did my time without having to look over my shoulder when I got home.

Prisoners need something to do while locked up.
