Proposed law may put check on state environmental rules

A hearing in Missouri's capital today is discussing a bill by Rep. Peter Myers, R-Sikeston, that would prevent the Department of Natural Resources from enacting regulations stricter than federal rules. Pro-business groups like the idea, while small farmers hate it.
