Welcome to the new world of journalism.

Gone are the stodgy old rules that say only journalists are qualified to write the news and submit photos. In this new day, every one of us can be a journalist, and this is your place to do it.

This section of the new semissourian.com is devoted to you, the words you write and the images you capture. Our best sources are the people out living life in our communities every day -- that's you.

Here, you determine the news or community interest stories and photos, whether it's a meeting of your local organization, your child's ball game or a local political meeting. Just fill out a simple form and your stories are online.

The new world is yours.
