Have an Enchanted weekend

Thursday, April 3, 2008

I just received word that one of the area's most unique nightspots, The Enchanted Forest, will be re-opening this weekend. The all-ages music venue was forced to close after sustaining damage during last month's ice storm. Here's their official release:

The Enchanted Forest - Official Notice - 04/02/08

We are glad to reopen the venue known as The Enchanted Forest for the next nine weeks through May 31st. We are currently working with a local architect "Keystone Design" and State Fire Marshall Mike Morgan on future plans to open a coffee shop/restaurant on the ground level of our building and move our music venue to the ground level as well. We'd like to thank Fire Marshall Mike Morgan for allowing us to continue operating upstairs for the next two months in order to raise funds to complete the needed work down stairs. Our occupancy level will continue to be 150 people up stairs but we hope to increase that number once we make the move to the ground level. Moving to the ground level will have several benefits with it.

1. It'll be air conditioned which will allow us to operate year around.

2. Off loading and loading music equipment can be done from the alley with only about four steps to walk up and down.

3. We will have more emergency exits for safety, two from the front and two from the back.

4. We will have more room for our customers and improved access from Broadway with no steps and two entrances.

5. Our Coffee shop/restaurant will be open 6-7 days a week with "Mississippi Mud Coffee" and real home cooking by Pitter.

We hope to make it an even better experience for our young and young at heart customers and look forward to many years of continued success. We will continue to offer a smoke free and alcohol free venue for local music and local music lovers.

The Enchanted Forest Saturday re-opening will feature Thorlock, Maelstrom and The Aether Tree. Get out and show your support!
