Sex offender sentenced to prison for failing to tell of address change

A Jonesboro, Illinois, man was sentenced Wednesday to two years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to one count of unlawful failure to report a change of address for a sex offender. Brandon D. Griffin, 32, of Jonesboro did not report he had moved from his residence in Jonesboro in accordance with the law within three days, and he was arrested in July, according to a news release from Union County State's Attorney Tyler R. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has announced it plans to close U.S. 51 at the Cairo, Illinois, bridge tonight.
