After a shabby, sluggish Game 3, featuring enough air balls and air-headed plays for seven games, the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers could use a few nips, tucks and lifts. Another good night's sleep or afternoon nap might help, too...

See beauty in the beast
(06/12/08)
June 12, 2008 Dear Julie, I missed spring. When the world became mud-luscious again and the goat-footed balloon man whistled far and wee, I was traveling elsewhere. Most of the places I'd been weren't green at all, so Missouri looked like a lush garden when I arrived home. Much more rain than normal is partly responsible. We know a couple who live on the Illinois side of the Mississippi River who've been flooded out of their house for two months...

MOVIE REVIEW: 'Zohan' is silly and messy, but it means well
(06/12/08)
For all its perceived shock value, all the concern that a comedy about conflict in the Middle East would offend just about everyone imaginable, "You Don't Mess With the Zohan" is really rather conventional and familiar. At its core, it's just "Romeo and Juliet," wrapped in Adam Sandler's trademark raunchy humor...
