AN OLD LEFTIST CASTS A CRITICAL EYE AT OUR `PEACE MOVEMENT'
(Column ~ 02/19/91)
One of the most interesting and compelling public figures writing and speaking today is one David Horowitz, an enormously articulate ex-leftist who once edited Ramparts magazine, a principal organ of the revolutionary Movement of the New Left during the '60s. Horowitz came to see the error of his former ways in pursuing leftist causes, and has written a remarkable book on his years in that misbegotten "Movement."...

Employed properly, grand juries provide certain economies of scale for a county. With a grand jury, prosecutors can run a large number of cases through the court system in a relatively short period of time...

SPEAKOUT
(Speak Out ~ 02/19/91)
WELL, MY FRUSTRATIONS have reached the point where I'm doing something I thought I'd never do, which is call Speak Out. I am tired of watching the news media as it misreports the affairs of the war in the gulf. I'm tired of watching and listening to those people, concentrating on the many, many people in Kuwait and Iraq who have been murdered by Saddam Hussein, and yet, according to the news, they point the finger of accusation at the troops who are fighting in the gulf region trying to preserve freedom. ...

SPEAKOUT
(Speak Out ~ 02/19/91)
I SAW AN ARTICLE in the Friday's Standard at Sikeston by a Mrs. Randol on the Giboney Cemetery being destroyed at Scott City which it is one of the oldest cemeteries in Scott County. I think it would be interesting if the paper would run the article.
