SCOTT CITY -- Danna M. Westrich, of Scott City, has received a Regents Scholarship for the fall 1991 semester at Southeast Missouri State University. The scholarship is awarded to high school seniors who are in the top 10 percent of their graduating class and who score above the 90th percentile on the ACT or SAT test. CAPE GIRARDEAU -- A course in desktop publishing will be offered at the Cape Girardeau Area Vocational-Technical School beginning Jan. 29. CAPE GIRARDEAU -- The U.S. involvement in the Persian Gulf war is unique with the country's initiating an offensive stance, said a local Army military science teacher. "This has no precedent. CAPE GIRARDEAU -- A former professor of Middle East history said Thursday that a U.S. military victory in the Persian Gulf war likely will do little to ease centuries-old political and economic power struggles in the region.
