Religious organization carries cross to the Mississippi

The Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship International (FGBMFI) organization went down to the river to pray on Saturday in Cape Girardeau. Members of the group carried a cross from Capaha Park down Broadway Street to the riverwalk, stopping along the way to share the Gospel. According to the organization's website "We believe in intensive world-evangelism and missionary work in accordance with The Great Commission."

Sam Barnhardt sounds the Shofar to welcome the Holy Spirit to the walk. The ancient musical instrument is made out of an antelope horn and is used for religious purposes.

Ryan Friese carries the cross in front of Southeast Missouri State University alongside Dylan Smithers and James Rowe. Friese is a veteran and retired professional bull rider.

The group plays music and speak to people along the way during the Cross Walk. The group's goal was to share the love of Jesus Christ to the people of Cape Girardeau.

Dylan Smithers of Rockport, Indiana carries the cross the final stretch of the walk to the Mississippi River. The event brought members in from bordering states including Indiana and Tennessee.

Regina Adotey, from Tennessee preaches in front of the Coin-Op Cantina in downtown Cape. Adotey travelled to Cape with her husband Fafa, the president of the organization's Jackson, Tennessee chapter Ezekiel Adetunji and his wife.

The walk ends at the Mississippi River and members form a prayer circle with people walking by the Mississippi River. The FGBMFI set up a tent where people could find out more information on the organization and its purpose.
