Pumpkin Picking Time

Children pick out pumpkins at the Grace United Methodist Church pumpkin patch on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016 in Cape Girardeau. The pumpkin patch is a fundraiser of the church with the money raised going to some of the 23 missions throughout the area. The pumpkins are grown on a farm at the Navajo Indian Reservation in Farmington, New Mexico.

The pumpkins are grown on a farm at the Navajo Indian Reservation in Farmington, New Mexico. The Colliers were picking out pumpkins with the PEP Program through Southeast Missouri State University's Educare, a grant-funded family and child care provider program. The children, along with their families, were exploring a life science study of the characteristics of living things. (Laura Simon)
