Renovation of the Civil War site of Fort A is completed with a flag-raising ceremony Friday, Feb. 13, 2015 in Cape Girardeau.

The Stars and Stripes is raised in a ceremony Friday, Feb. 13, 2015 presented by U.S. District Judge Stephen N. Limbaugh Jr. at the Civil War site of Fort A on the east end of Bellevue Street in Cape Girardeau. An apartment building at the site was recently razed after Limbaugh purchased the property situated above North Main Street. A fence has been installed and visitors will be able to view the Mississippi River from the site.
