Speak Out: Obamacare, Fed policy, will have little affect on business decisions

Do the math miccheck.

Obamacare will negatively affect 8% of business hiring according to your own link and numbers.

The Fed policy will affect 30% of businesses according to you own link and numbers.

Do you have any idea how huge of an affect that is on the economy and employment?

  • A-your whole arguement is based on points according to a single survey of a subset of businesses that are members to that organization. A slice.

B-there are numerous well documented stories and personal experiences of MILLIONS of people who have lost their employer-supplied insurance and have had their hours cut due to Obamacare

C-Do the math. How much do you think 8% of US business accounts for in employment? It isn't small and it's a huge drag on the economy. Even if one were to give credibility to this one small business survey.

  • 8% is 8%? Is there a big difference between 4% unemployment and 10%? Just a few percentage points there...

If Obamacare is negatively affecting 8% of the hiring decisions that is big enough. I doubt it's that small.

Anecdotal evidence? From the Huffington Post and CNBC:

"Forty-one percent of the businesses surveyed have frozen hiring because of the health-care law known as Obamacare. And almost one-fifth--19 percent-- answered "yes" when asked if they had "reduced the number of employees you have in your business as a specific result of the Affordable Care Act."

  • Jeeze Dug. That's only like 9.5 million people, and a couple of million businesses. Whoop-de-doo.

Nothing to see here. Time to get with the program.

  • More good news

"While some fluctuations in this number can be expected in the future, and we still face uncertain congressional decisions regarding the federal budget and the debt ceiling, the signs of recovery are accumulating,"

I believe this thread and the current one being discussed should be merged.

Don't know how much more of this good news America can tolerate though.
