At the end of the year, we pay more in Part D premiums than our carrier pays out ... partly due to that 'gap' ... Of course, I've no idea what the government (taxpayers) also pays the insurance companies; assume they do, from the way I read it ... but like any other business, they're in it to make money, not lose it ... right?

Still ... hate to not have the Part D, just in case ... um ... like any other insurance? We pay pay premiums just in case we get sick, need meds, or have a car accident or the wind blows the roof off the house. The insurance carriers accept our premiums hoping that we don't. Makes sense to me!

  • I don't know yet. Nothing has been passed. I'll wait and see what happens before I start crying "the sky is falling".
