Just for kicks and something different than politics. What Internet Browser do you use and why? I have always and probably stupidly so, stuck with Internet Explorer. Now on Ver 9 using Windows 7 and have had some problems a while back with it hanging up. Suddenly that quit happening so I assumed they had fixed it. Now it is so blasted slow. Last night I tried Chrome for a bit and it just flew, so I don't think the problem is on my end. Dear Ann Landers.... what should I use?

    Wheels,

    I like both Firefox and Chrome, don't think you would go wrong with either. Plus there are utilities like Ad Blocker and Ad Blocker Plus that you can download which will block most of the annoying ads on your screen.

    Guys, thank you.... I will ponder these suggestions and be back later for more conversation. I know one thing for sure IE 9 and I are going to part company.

    Gotta run.

  • Wheels just push any button and hold on because it will change direction tomorrow, just like facebook those kids tinker with these networks every day they cannot leave nothing alone. If it is not broke don't fix it leave it alone. Now, I understand Internet Explorer had a dispute with Google and ATT had a dispute with Live Mail which is owned by Microsoft hell they all were in to it there for a while I had to go to Yahoo mail which is part of ATT because ATT stopped everybody Live Mail one morning it was a mess. Turf battles in the cyber world.

    swampeastmissouri;

    I'm all the time being told to push any button to make certain things happen. I've looked all over that darn keyboard and can't find an "any" button on it!

    An update on Browsers. I think too, the popup advertising is some of the problem and intend to look into the ad blockers recommended.

    Since I already had Chrome download with somehting else, even though I had not used it. I tried it a little bit yesterday and used it exclusively today. A little different, and I do miss the one search program where all I had to do was hilight a word in what I was typing and check my spelling easily. Yes , I know it looks like I never spell check, but I do a little bit., when I cannot make a word even look close to correct.

    So far Chrome has been flying along, even on the Missourian site. No hangups yet. I will use it about a week and then download Firefox and run it for a bit to see which matches my bad habits closest. Thanks to all for the suggestions. I know enough already to know Internet Explorer is history with me.

  • The slowest thing on my computer is me.

    Took me two years to figure out what a browser is. In five year old terms, so far so good with chrome and 7. The big problem I have is the back key on these forums. If only you all knew what brilliant posts you have missed because my back arrow ate them! :)
